Document setup

Files should be supplied with bleeds where necessary. Please ensure all artwork is centered within the document page.

If your artwork needs to be printed to the very edge of the finished size document, any images, color etc need to "bleed" off the edge of the paper by at least ΒΌ inch. This bleed will be printed but then cut off in the final cropping process.

Resolution

We prefer that all artwork be submitted in vector format. However, if you have a file that is non vector art, it should be supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi at final output size. Images downloaded from the internet are generally of too low a resolution (72dpi) to be suitable for printing at press quality. For example, if you submit a 12 inch square image that needs to be enlarged to a 36 inch square image, your 72dpi, would reduce to approximately 24dpi.

If you are submitting artwork for a large scale sign or banner, we do accept artwork at 50% size with a 300dpi resolution.

Color

Full color artwork should contain CMYK color only, RGB files should be converted to CMYK. All color proofs would be converted to CMYK and may affect appearance of any artwork in RGB format. When submitting artwork digitally, please provide a color print that we can match. For any spot colors used, please provide a Pantone color. A color copy of the artwork is extremely helpful for matching purposes. A proof is required for all 4 color process jobs.

Color proofing

Digital proofs cannot be 100% color accurate to the final print, they can be used as a guide only.

Fonts

We can accept both Mac and PC generated artwork, but if you are using a Mac, please save your files as PC compatible. If you use a Mac, all fonts used should be embedded (PDF's) or converted to outlines (EPS, Illustrator). If you use a PC and think you may need text changes to your artwork, please supply the postscript (printer) and screen font. If you do not anticipate changes, please be sure all fonts used are embedded (PDF's) or converted to outlines (EPS, Illustrator).
